LGBTQ + Transgender Plastic Surgery

Conveniently located to serve San Antonio and surrounding communities.

We appreciate you visiting us here at The Plastic and Cosmetic Center of South Texas!

We understand that this is a life changing surgery and we value your trust. To this end, there are a few housekeeping issues that need to be resolved prior to surgery!

Transgender plastic surgery encompasses a range of procedures designed to help individuals align their physical appearance with their gender identity. For transgender individuals, these surgeries can be a crucial aspect of their gender-affirming journey. Common procedures include chest (top) surgery, which involves breast augmentation or reduction for transgender women and men, respectively. Facial feminization surgery (FFS) or masculinization surgery (FMS) aims to alter facial features to be more congruent with the desired gender. Genital reconstruction surgeries, such as vaginoplasty or phalloplasty, are significant options for some transgender individuals seeking alignment with their gender identity. It’s important to note that not all transgender individuals pursue surgery, and decisions about these procedures are deeply personal and varied. Access to knowledgeable healthcare professionals, psychological support, and a multidisciplinary approach are critical components in ensuring the well-being of individuals undergoing transgender plastic surgery. As societal awareness and acceptance grow, so does the availability of informed and compassionate care for those seeking gender-affirming procedures.

Namely

  1. If you are getting a Breast Procedure:
You will need a clearance letter from your treating physician that you are in the process of gender change and that you have been living the new gender for over a year.
  2. Any medications such as estrogen must be stopped two weeks before surgery as they can produce blood clots.

These two items in addition to any other clearances are necessary to complete your surgery.

We thank you for your trust and we are honored to serve you!
