Keep reading to learn more about our weight loss injection options.
What is Semaglutide for Weight Loss?
Semaglutide is an injectable weight loss drug authorized by the FDA. Semaglutide stimulates insulin secretion by acting as a hormone in the body, and it also decreases gastric emptying rate. As a result, you’ll feel full for longer and can reduce your food intake, which will lead to weight loss.
To help individuals with Type 2 diabetes manage their blood sugar levels, the drug was approved in 2017 at a lower dose. Semaglutide’s effectiveness in lowering blood sugar levels is accompanied by a welcome side effect: reduced appetite. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Semaglutide for weight loss in eligible adults based on studies of a higher dose of the medicine in patients without Type 2 diabetes.
Wegovy Semaglutide Weight Loss Injections
We now offer Wegovy weight loss injections! Wegovy (semaglutide) 2.4 mg is a prescription drug that is injected. It may help adult patients and adolescents younger than 12 who are obese (BMI 30 for adults, BMI 95th percentile for age and sex for children) or who are overweight (BMI 27) and have health problems related to their weight to lose unwanted weight and help keep it from coming back. Wegovy should be used with a meal plan with fewer calories and more exercise.
- Wegovy has semaglutide in it, so it shouldn’t be taken with other goods that have semaglutide or other GLP-1 receptor agonist drugs.
- We do not yet know if it is safe and effective to combine Wegovy with other weight loss products, whether they are prescribed, over-the-counter, or herbal.
- It is not known if Wegovy can be used safely in patients with a medical history of pancreatitis
- It is not known if Wegovy is safe and effective for use in children under 12 years of age
How Do Wegovy Weight Loss Injections Work?
Wegovy works by acting like a hormone that affects parts of the brain that control hunger and how much food you eat. This can make you less hungry, which can help you eat less and lose weight.
Semaglutide acts like a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1, or GLP-1, which affects parts of the brain that control hunger and how much food you eat. After you eat, this incretin hormone is released by your gut system. It lowers your blood sugar by causing insulin to be released, which stops sugar from being made. As a result, you’ll find yourself eating less and losing about a pound a week. And while eating less helps you lose weight faster and keep it off longer, you don’t have to diet to lose weight with Semaglutide.
What Are the Benefits of Wegovy Semaglutide Weight Loss Injections?
Semaglutide, which is found in Wegovy, is the first hormone-based weight loss drug of its kind that is both safe and highly effective.
The following are some of the health benefits of Wegovy:
- Reduce glucose levels without triggering hypoglycemia.
- Obesity, dyslipidemia, hypertension, inflammation markers, and oxidative stress were all reduced
- Suppression of appetite
- Enhanced insulin production and release

- Increased satiety (fullness) caused by chemical manipulation of the brain
- Intestinal gastric emptying is slowed, keeping you fuller for longer
- Noticeable and significant weight loss
- Significantly reduced obesity-related cardiovascular risk factors
Most patients using Semaglutide in clinical trials lost 10% of their body weight or more. More than half of them achieved a 15% weight loss, the minimum level recommended by most doctors to lessen the likelihood of developing certain chronic diseases in the future.

How Do Mounjaro Injections Work?
GIP is a hormone that enhances the results of drugs that act on the GLP-1 receptor. Combining GIP with GLP-1 receptor agonism increases the effects of GIP on body weight, glucose, and lipids in preclinical models. Evidence suggests that it can help people lose weight by reducing their calorie consumption and increasing their activity levels.
Incretin hormones are secreted in response to eating. They aid in making you feel full by slowing down your stomach and stimulating your brain’s reward circuits. They help keep blood sugar levels in a healthy range by making more insulin and making less glucagon. Incretin hormones, or their mimics such as GLP-1 and GIP receptor agonists, are not expected to cause severe hypoglycemia because all of these reactions depend on glucose.
What Happens If I Miss A Mounjaro Dose?
First, schedule the start of your treatment at a certain date. From then on, you’ll only need to utilize Mounjaro once per week, at your convenience.
We are aware that plans may need to be adjusted. If you want to modify the day of the week that you administer your dose, you should wait at least three days (72 hours) to do so. If you forget to take a dose of Mounjaro, take it as soon as you remember within 4 days (96 hours).
If it has been more than 4 days since your last dose, do not take a double dose to catch up. You shouldn’t take Mounjaro twice in a row if you can help it.
If you tend to forget which day is your Mounjaro day, setting a reminder on your phone could be beneficial. Remember to modify the reminder to the new day if you set it at a specific time but end up changing the day.

What is Wegovy/Ozempic/Mounjaro:
Made for diabetes and prediabetes in its original form, these substances (GLP-1) inhibit glucagon release (which inhibit Insulin) and increase insulin release from the pancreas to decrease Hgb A1c which is a marker for diabetes. These substances also reduce the time it takes for food to get through the stomach.
Mounjaro additional has another hormone that makes you feel full called GIP which directly targeting receptors I the brain to inhibit caloric intake as well as increase effectiveness of GLp-1 and is more effective than Ozempic in this case. As of 4-24-23, Mounjaro is not approved for weight loss, but Wegovy is. We expect this to change some time soon.
