Remove the Hump in Your Nose with Rhinoplasty

Conveniently located to serve San Antonio and surrounding communities.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons places nose reshaping as the second most-requested surgical cosmetic procedure in the United States, with only breast augmentation being more popular. This procedure, otherwise known as rhinoplasty, has both functional and aesthetic advantages. If you have a hump on your nose, it can be smoothed down to give you an appearance more in line with how you would prefer to look.

Changing the Shape of Your Nose

Many people who dislike their nose cite shape as their largest concern. As our noses protrude and can be fragile, everything from childhood accidents to sports injuries as an adult can have an impact. If you have a hump or a lump on your nose, it’s possible your nose was broken and not properly set in the past. Some people naturally have a bump on their nose even though no trauma has occurred.

Rhinoplasty can be used to remove excess cartilage while preserving all other aesthetics of your nose. You can also choose to make other changes to your nose during the same surgery, such as refining the tip of your nose, repairing a deviated septum or narrowing the bridge of the nose. Talk to our talented plastic surgeon about all of your concerns to get the best results possible.

Before Your Surgical Procedure

Most people who are in generally good health can tolerate a rhinoplasty procedure with little to no side effects. However, you will want to make sure you are ready for surgery. If you have any chronic health conditions, it may prevent you from seeking surgery. Your primary care physician can coordinate with our surgeon to ensure your safety and increase the odds of a successful outcome.

Recovering from Rhinoplasty

You will need to give yourself time to adequately recuperate after your rhinoplasty. Most people get to go home the same day of their surgery, but another adult will need to drive them home. For the first few days, you may find that you’re easily tired. However, this will get better with time. The initial recovery after rhinoplasty is only about two weeks.
