You’re happy with your body’s shape for the most part. You take care of yourself, eat healthy foods, and exercise on a regular basis. You’re at a weight that works for you, and you have curves in the right places. There’s only one problem. You’re not happy with the size and shape of your breasts. Nothing you can do is going to enhance or augment your breasts. However, a plastic surgery can help.
Before you go ahead with your procedure, you want to ensure that your breasts meet your goals once your procedure is over because you do not want to go through breast augmentation again. Fortunately, adjustable breast implants give you more control over your breast size.
How Do Adjustable Breast Implants Work?
Adjustable breast implants are similar to traditional implants in that they can be filled with saline or other types of gel, such as silicone. The difference is that they can be inflated after your procedure by adding more filler through a tube and port or injection dome that is attached and present under your skin. After your procedure, we will monitor your progress. You will be able to see true results.
If you feel that you need a size adjustment, that can easily occur with adjustable breast implants. Once you are content with the size of your breasts, the injection dome, and tube will be removed in a simple procedure.
What to Expect When Getting Adjustable Breast Implants
When you opt for adjustable breast implants, you will go through the same procedure as you would with typical implants. The only difference is the filler tube and injection dome.
You can expect your procedure to be performed as an outpatient. Anesthesia or a sedative in intravenous form will be used to avoid pain during your procedure. An incision could be made under your breasts, in your arm pit, or around your nipples to place your implants. They can be placed behind the tissue in your breasts or under the pectoral muscles. Your incisions will be closed, and your breasts will be bandaged.
Advice regarding restrictions in activity and how to care for your breasts will be given. As you begin to heal, you’ll see your results and can have adjustments when you come into the office.
