During the summer clients do not realize that their recovery process is a little different, because of the season!
Here are some tips and tricks to a seamless recovery during summertime!
- KEEP COOL: When you stay out in the sun after surgery you can get delayed symptoms from your surgery. Like nausea, headache, and even heat exhaustion.
- STAY HYDRATED: During the summer you already need to be drinking more water. But even more so since you have just been through an invasive surgery. Your body is still recovering even if it was weeks ago!
- NO SWIMMING JUST YET: Try to stay out of pools, lakes, oceans, etc. These standing bodies of water can harbor infectious pathogens that will put you at risk for different types of infections! You can get in the pool once cleared by your doctor!
- WEAR SPF: After you get your surgery you will need to put spf on your scarring anytime you are outside. So that you will prevent hyperpigmentation on and around your surgery scars.”
