Behind the Mask | COVID-19 (Coronavirus)

– Hey guys, this is Doctor J: Behind the Mask and today we’re gonna talk about COVID-19 and how it effects doctor’s offices, coming up. So, COVID-19, you can’t turn on the TV, you can’t turn on social media, you can’t turn on anything without it being right in your face. What do we know about COVID-19? Absolutely not very much, but what we do know is that when you’re in a doctor’s office, or a dentist’s office, especially remotely, not part of a hospital, you’re actually quite safe and the reason is is because we’ve been practicing PPE and personal protection forever. We’ve been OSHA, joint commission certified and most dentists and doctors have learned to treat everybody as communicable since the time we opened. We clean our areas two or three times a day and in between patient care and we just wear our PPE, it’s just part of our nature. I guess, when you hear about this and you hear about closings of other industries, they haven’t really practiced it and I just wanted to let you know that we’ve been doing the same thing over and over again for, now, going on my 19th year, so rest assured that we are cleaning and we are following all the WHO and CDC guidelines too. We use our joint commission operating rooms, so when we do start back up, again, we’ve terminally cleaned and all the practitioners in this operating room, including the anesthesiologists and the people that iron and the nurses and the scrub techs and the support staff all understand personal protection both ways, how to protect you and how we protect ourselves from you as well, so rest assured that doctors offices and dentists have been doing this for a long time. As far as the other news it covered, we’re just gonna wait and see.
