About Dr. Ryan Couvillion
Dr. Ryan Couvillion, a renowned plastic surgeon with extensive experience in Houston, TX, is now proud to offer his exceptional services at Chrysalis Plastic Surgery Center in San Antonio, Texas. Specializing in cosmetic procedures for the breasts, body, face, and skin, Dr. Couvillion is committed to achieving outstanding results for his patients. As a native of Houston, he has a deep connection to his hometown and is excited to extend his practice to the vibrant community of San Antonio. Driven by his early passion for plastic and reconstructive surgery, he had the privilege of receiving mentorship from esteemed surgeons across the nation.
Education and Training
While initially pursuing an interest in cell and molecular biology at Tulane University, Dr. Couvillion earned first a Bachelor of Science degree, and then a Master of Science degree. He next chose to continue his education in the New Orleans area by attending medical school at Louisiana State University. During this time, he was selected to join the medical honors society, Alpha Omega Alpha. Following this achievement, he went on to complete a residency at Tulane University Medical School, which is one of the oldest general surgery training programs in the country. After honing his surgical abilities and gaining recognition by the department for his teaching ability, he relocated to Houston to begin a three-year plastic surgery fellowship at Houston Methodist. It was during these final years of training that he learned advanced techniques from some of the nation’s most distinguished aesthetic and reconstructive surgeons.
Dr. Couvillion is Board Certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is also Board Certified in General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.

Dr. Couvillion’s personalized, patient-centered approach is used when performing a variety of procedures, including breast augmentation, breast lift, and breast reduction surgery. He also offers facelift surgery and other facial rejuvenation procedures, such as neck lifts, brow lifts, and blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery). Dr. Couvillion strives to create natural results using the latest techniques in body contouring surgeries. For weight loss patients and those desiring a more shapely contour, he performs liposuction, tummy tucks, thigh lift surgery, mommy makeover procedures, as well as other procedures not listed here. In addition to cosmetic surgery, our combined plastic surgery and dermatology practice is proud to offer expertise in a wide range of nonsurgical skin rejuvenation procedures for patients seeking anti-aging help without undergoing surgery. Dr. Couvillion and his wife have two children. They live in Houston, TX, and enjoy cooking, spending time outdoors, traveling, and playing with their dog. Dr. Couvillion is a volunteer at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo and is proud to be a 6th generation Texan.
